We are the UK's leading dementia charity. Every day, we work tirelessly to find new treatments and, ultimately, a cure for dementia. We provide expert information, training, and support services to all those who need our help. And we are creating a more dementia-friendly society so people with the condition can live without fear and prejudice. Alzheimer's Society will be here for anyone affected by dementia - wherever they are, whatever they're going through. Everything we do is informed and inspired by them

About the role

Our Day Support services provide care and support for a person with dementia in a safe and comfortable environment. This service gives users an opportunity to meet and mix with others; it provides stimulation through social contact and meaningful activities, and an opportunity to pursue hobbies and social activities.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our team providing a Day Support Service. You will be required to take responsibility for a caseload of clients; contributing to the development of individual care plans; making appropriate risk assessments and helping people with dementia to achieve their potential and maximise their skills.

About you

Do you want to make a difference? Are you someone who can work well as part of a team and have a passion for improving the lives of people affected by dementia?

We are looking for an individual with experience within a care environment or similar and an understanding of the needs of people with dementia and their carers. You will need to be someone who knows how to get the best out of people and be able to devise and lead meaningful activities in our Day Support Service. You will need to be able to work well as part of a team and be passionate about improving the quality of life for people living with dementia.

You will have good listening skills and an understanding of dementia, working in a person-centred way to enable people to achieve their potential and maximise their skills. You will be expected to contribute to the development of individual care plans and help make appropriate risk assessments.

You will be provided with induction and training to enable you to carry out your role.

Our employees work hard every day to make a true difference in people's lives. We are proud to support them with a range of benefits, recognition and many options for working agilely, all contributing to a strong work life balance. We also have various learning programmes to support you in your development and help you grow to realise your potential and shape a career with Alzheimer's Society.
