Dementia devastates lives. By 2021, 1 million people will be living with the condition. But dementia won't win. Until the day we find a cure, Alzheimer's Society will be here for anyone affected by dementia - wherever they are, whatever they're going through. Everything we do is informed and inspired by them.
We are the UK's leading dementia charity. Every day, we work tirelessly to find new treatments and, ultimately, a cure for dementia. We provide expert information, training, and support services to all those who need our help. And we are creating a more dementia-friendly society so people with the condition can live without fear and prejudice.
About the role
Have you got what it takes to build on our success so far? Then we can promise you a stimulating and varied role as our new Media Manager specialising in fundraising and engagement, a pivotal delivery role in the growing marketing and communications directorate at Alzheimer’s Society.
You will play a vital part in positioning Alzheimer’s Society as the leading dementia charity in the UK at an exciting time, following the launch of a bold new strategy in 2017, a rebranded annual Dementia Action Week, growing fundraising campaigns and a concerted drive to create a dementia friendly society.
You will work closely with colleagues across all Directorates to develop creative, integrated campaigns that promote our brand, drive fundraising, publicise our services and galvanise individuals to join with us as part of a social movement for change.
As you might expect, building relationships with senior media figures will be an important aspect of your role. But equally important will be your ability alongside our other Media Manager in this area to inspire and develop a team of three Media Officers and a shared Media Assistant.
This role calls for experience of working in a high-profile, busy media office – including proven ability to develop integrated media relations strategies. Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have experience of working with the media to deliver impactful campaigns and key messages that shape the public agenda.
Our employees work hard every day to make a true difference in people's lives. We are proud to support them with a range of benefits, recognition and many options for working agilely, all contributing to a strong work life balance. We also have various learning programmes to support you in your development and help you grow to realise your potential and shape a career with Alzheimer's Society.
You can also visit our Working for Us pages, which give you more information about what it’s like to be an employee at the Society.
