Dementia devastates lives. By 2021, 1 million people will be living with the condition. But dementia won't win. Until the day we find a cure, Alzheimer's Society will be here for anyone affected by dementia - wherever they are, whatever they're going through. Everything we do is informed and inspired by them.

We are the UK's leading dementia charity. Every day, we work tirelessly to find new treatments and, ultimately, a cure for dementia. We provide expert information, training, and support services to all those who need our help. And we are creating a more dementia-friendly society so people with the condition can live without fear and prejudice.

About the role

Bristol Dementia Partnership is a joint venture between Alzheimer’s Society and Devon Partnership NHS Trust, providing the Dementia Wellbeing Service across Bristol. This is a service that supports people living with dementia to remain as well as possible, for as long as possible, in their own community.

We are looking for a Community Development Coordinator to work within the Dementia Wellbeing Service based in our South Hub in Bristol.

About you

You will be responsible for building connections with key members of the community and other professions as well as finding creative ways to reach isolated groups and promote dementia friendly communities.

You will increase awareness of the Dementia Wellbeing Service in those groups that find our services hard to access. You will build relationships with local community and religious groups, businesses and organisations, be involved in working with GPs and the wider community of Bristol.

We welcome applications from those with community experience and good connections with Equality and Diversity groups in the city.

Our employees work hard every day to make a true difference in people’s lives. We are proud to support them with a range of benefits, recognition and many options for working agilely. All contributing to a strong work life balance. We also have various learning programmes to support you in your development and help you grow to realise your potential and shape a career with Alzheimer’s Society

Are you someone who can make things happen? Who knows how to get the best out of people? If this sounds like you we can offer you a stimulating and challenging career as part of our growing services team.
