About the role

We are looking for a talented technologist to join the IT team in a high-profile role, reporting to the Head of IT.

The successful candidate will be the subject matter expert to lead the creation and technical delivery of IT solutions (MS Azure, MS365, end user computing, collaboration tools, SaaS adoption, digital technologies) that deliver business value and ensure a viable, supportable IT estate.

The role will provide technical leadership and oversight of solution design and implementation, of all staff and suppliers that contribute directly to the activity.

You will be providing excellent technical skills to scope requirements, create designs, develop solutions, test, rollout, and introduce into BAU. You will be collaborating closely with the business to understand their goals, and with technical teams such as Data or Digital, or external suppliers for co-creation.

You will be responsible for the performance of a small, experienced team, ensuring the design and delivery of technology solutions. The team develops solutions in the areas of infrastructure, end user computing, productivity and collaboration tools, MS Power Platform and Salesforce. You will be responsible as the technical expert in infrastructure, IaaS, PaaS, specifically with excellent knowledge of MS Azure and integrating SaaS solutions.

About you

You will:

  • Be an experienced, proactive, and well-organised technologist who can hit the ground running.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to motivate your team members, building lasting relationships and skills
  • Combine technology skills with line management and project delivery experience to act as a technical lead and guide the successful implementation of your and the team’s work.
  • Possess the knowledge and experience to work within both waterfall and agile project environments
  • Taking ownership of technical delivery and collaborating closely with the wider project.
  • Experience to manage the workload of multiple activities across the team.
  • Ability to manage a broad set of activities
  • Excellent attention to detail and work autonomously to achieve assigned goals
  • Understand the necessary components of a high-quality IT service and have extensive experience within an ITIL-based service model in a fast-paced and busy environment. This includes the promotion of solutions into production service with handover to support teams.
